Representation starts with understanding where your child is now, where they’re trying to get to, and what needs to happen between the two.

We assess the player, build their professional profile, use our club network to find opportunities that make sense for their age, level, position and goals, and manage the communication with those clubs.

If they go overseas, they enter the club environment, train at that level and get properly assessed. From there, we get feedback, work out where they stand and decide what the next step should be.

That could mean more development, another club environment, a scholarship opportunity, registration or, for the right player at the right level, pursuing a contract.

The point is to find the pathway that actually makes sense for the player.

The biggest difference is what happens once your child gets there.

We put players into real club environments where they’re training, being watched by coaches and decision makers, and being assessed against the level they’re trying to reach.

Sometimes the feedback is great. Sometimes it isn’t.

That’s football.

But either way, now we know something. We know where the player actually sits, what translates at that level, what doesn’t, and what they need to improve before the next opportunity.

Getting your child to Spain isn’t the finish line. The important part is what we learn from putting them in that environment and what we do with that information next.

This is probably one of the questions parents ask us the most.

And the first thing we’d ask is:

Ready for what?

Ready to sign a professional contract? Maybe not.

Ready to spend time developing inside a professional environment? Maybe.

Ready to experience the European level, be challenged and find out where the gaps in their game actually are? They could absolutely be ready for that.

Every player is different. Age, level, position, mentality, maturity and family situation all matter. So we look at the player and work out what level of challenge makes sense for them.

They don’t need to be ready for the end goal. They need to be ready for the next step.

For most young players, going straight from amateur football into a professional contract isn’t the realistic first step.

Maybe they need to get fitter. Maybe their decision-making needs work. Maybe they need to become more independent. Or maybe they simply need time inside a stronger environment to understand the level they’re trying to reach.

That’s what development is for.

We put them into an environment that challenges them, get honest feedback, identify the gap and then work out what needs to happen next.

The contract or scholarship is something we’re building towards. We don’t want to rush a player towards something they’re not ready for.

Look, overseas football costs money.

Unless a player earns a sponsored, scholarship or club-funded opportunity, families need to be prepared to invest in the pathway.

Representation:

Our 12-month representation is $2,949 AUD. This covers the agency side of what we do, including our support, guidance, club network and sourcing suitable trial and development opportunities.

Overseas club costs:

For shorter opportunities using the full residency setup, families should generally budget around €2,000 to €3,000 per month.

Depending on the club and opportunity, this generally covers:

• Accommodation
• Three meals a day
• Daily transport to training
• Airport transfers
• Club equipment and facilities
• Club fees and support around the player

Flights, travel insurance, visas where required and personal spending money also need to be budgeted separately.

This depends on the player, their age, how long they’re going overseas for and the pathway they’re taking.

A shorter development period is obviously very different from spending a full season in Spain.

That’s why we work through the player’s situation with the family before recommending anything.

Football can’t be looked at in isolation. School, maturity, family situation, budget and the player’s actual level all need to make sense together.

For longer pathways, we’ll talk you through what needs to be considered before your family makes that decision.

This is obviously a massive question for parents, especially when we’re talking about a 13, 14 or 15-year-old going to the other side of the world.

For players taking the full residency option, they stay in a structured residency environment connected to the club.

Depending on the club, that generally includes accommodation, meals, transport to training and the professional support around the player.

And this is one of the reasons the club we choose matters.

The biggest name isn’t automatically the best option.

We look at the environment, facilities, accommodation, staff, football level, pathway and what is actually going to suit that particular player.
