Lucas Gil Signs Full Scholarship with RC Celta Vigo’s Academy in Spain

We’re proud to announce that 18-year-old Lucas Gil has officially earned a full scholarship with RC Celta Vigo’s Academy in Spain for the rest of the season!💪

Lucas has been registered and competing with Celta Academy since the start of the year, after earning this opportunity during his initial development period with the club. We’re proud to finally share this milestone publicly.

🗣️ “Lucas first came to our Sydney event in July 2025. At the time, I don’t think he showed everything he was capable of across the two days, but he had a strong baseline and we all agreed he would really benefit from a fast-track development opportunity overseas.

He later travelled to our partners at Celta for that exact reason, and since arriving, he has absolutely flourished. So much so, the club offered him the chance to stay for the rest of the season on a full scholarship.

Honestly, he deserves everything that has come his way. He is class on and off the pitch, a natural number 9, and someone I truly believe we’ll see playing at a top Australian senior level or overseas in the future.” – Alan

Honestly, when I first arrived, I didn’t expect an opportunity like this, which makes it even more special. Since being here, I’ve developed so much both mentally and physically, which has all been due to the training schedule, coaches and quality of sessions.

I’m thankful to Alan, Maurice, Juan an all of the elite team, aswell as Celta who have supported me, believed in me, and helped me improve throughout. The experience so far has pushed me to work harder, stay focused, and continue chasing my goals.
